Towns and cities can provide 'information points' where visitors and residents can - with 'one touch' - download for FREE - relevant information to their mobile phone - information such as 'where to stay', 'where to eat', 'where to shop', 'what's on', 'Tourist attractions', local travel details, town maps, etc. which they can access throughout their stay (and delete when they leave).
This should clearly improve the local economy by encouraging visitors to stay longer and therefore spend more money locally.
It also provides an opportunity to generate revenue - by selling 'advertising space' on the Beamzone boxes - to LOCAL businesses who want to reach both visitors and local residents; and to remind both visitors and local residents of forthcoming events for their diary
