Bluetooth Marketing at National Venue Show

Bluetooth Marketing System unveiled at National Venue Show

September 2007.

Birmingham-based communications specialist, SuiteX, unveiled its revolutionary Bluetooth marketing system to the business events industry at the National Venue Show.

The Show's organisers - CMP United Business Media - used the Beamzone 'white box' technology to pass on lots of up-to-the-minute show information to visitors and exhibitors at the three-day event at Birmingham's NEC.

SuiteX is a certified partner of German cutting-edge technologists Blue Cell Networks GmbH which has been developing proximity marketing in a number of European countries, for the past two years. But this is the first time the system has been marketed in the UK by a sole-rights specialist.

The 'white boxes' were used to transmit audio and visual material which also included up-to-date still images and screen savers, all of it free of charge, to anyone with a Bluetooth enabled mobile device - but only if they wanted to receive it.

According to SuiteX Marketing Director, Trevor Land, detailed discussions about the use of Beamzone for a full spectrum of events - from exhibitions and conferences, to concerts and sporting events - have also taken place with major venues, including the NEC.

Plans have also been drawn up with the aim of using the system at CMPI's sister show International Confex which takes place at Earls Court from February 12 to 14, where it is proposed the system is also offered to exhibitors to tell all 'switched-on' visitors about their on-stand features and activities.

SuiteX Business Development Director, Geoff Abbott said: 'We had three superb days at the National Venue Show, with almost 100 strong leads involving everything from hotels and hotel groups, convention centres and soccer stadia, to entertainment venues and racecourses, transport companies and event organisers.

'The Beamzone system received over 3,400 hits, so it looks like the 4,000-plus visitors caught on very quickly to this new dimension in proximity marketing; at 85 percent this tally was very much in line with our predicted figures.'

Catharine Mackay, Account Manager for the National Venue Show and International Confex said: 'The Beamzone system worked very effectively and generated lots of interest from visitors and exhibitors alike.

'Looking forward, there are a number of dramatic changes that we have made to International Confex, as well, and by introducing this market-leading Bluetooth technology, to a global audience, we will really enhance the show's dynamic approach to the visitor and exhibitor experience. The initial showcase at the National Venue Show has provided a sound basis for developing a strong relationship with SuiteX.'

SuiteX sister company SuiteTalk provided podcast coverage for the 13 seminar sessions. The recordings were edited on-site then uploaded to the SuiteTalk server so that the show's organisers, CMPI, could transfer the sessions onto the National Venue Show website.
